Blog on(e)
Writing one's first blog isn't quite in the same league as losing one's virginity - but it's up there. And there are, indeed, parallels to be drawn between the two activities. It's the first time, so you want it to be perfect: creation of the right atmosphere using the right words and clever movements, jostling the right emotions (and slight sense of achievement) - but deep down inside you know the reality of the situation will end up being fairly uninspiring and far too short lived an experience. It will not be the cataclysmic cocktail of love and poetry that you know it should have been. You will, instead, wind up asking yourself: "What was that?" You will embarrass yourself. Perhaps following the UK's current trend for first time sexual exploits I should've written this first blog whilst under the influence. At least then, when I reached the end, I wouldn't feel quite so dissatisfied and emotionally confused by what just happened. You live and learn. Maybe next time.
